Happy Thanksgiving

May you all have many blessings to be thankful for!  And may we all stop to consider those who have lost their jobs and sole sources of income for their families during these harsh school system budget cuts. Our hearts are with them.  If you haven’t already, when you return to school, please remember to personally thank your child’s teacher, bus driver and other staff members for picking up the slack and doing the right thing for children under great stress.  We are very thankful for each and every one of them.

Thanks for thinking of us. We are thankful for your support and standing up for us. Sometimes it helps to make us keep pressing on when you feel like giving up.

  2. Tim McGaughey says:

Well said. Thank you to the dedicated teachers, bus drivers and principals of our schools.

Whenever I read the distressing news of DCSS, I think of you who work with our kids in the schools every day. Bless you for persevering in the face of all this “stuff”. May miracles happen for us all.

  4. Goodteacher says:

All of this makes me so nervous. I cannot understand why the State is not stepping in, I cannot understand why ODE is not speaking up for the teachers. We are watching criminals commit crimes and are helpless to stop them. Thanks for the love and support from the parents and citizens of Dekalb. Please know that I teach as hard as I can every day. I will be honest though and tell you Dekalb is not getting all the overtime from me that they seem to take for granted. I am there for the kids, I am looking forward to seeing them tomorrow and hearing about their break. But all the extra demands that Dekalb continues to pile on us…my day is done when I feel my work for the day is done. I will continue to enrich, and encourage my kids to be the best they can be because I am a teacher and am of the group that feels teaching is a calling, not a job. Please keep doing what your are doing DSW without you all we would have is the lies the Palace puts out and the sham of a job AJC is doing covering this ongoing drama.
