DSW – It’s plenty clear to me who leaked information about Stan Jester.

  3. Wow. Maureen Downey at the AJC is now referring to Stan as a ‘gadfly’…

Full Definition of GADFLY (from Merriam Webster)
any of various flies (as a horsefly, botfly, or warble fly) that bite or annoy livestock
a person who stimulates or annoys especially by persistent criticism
    Examples of GADFLY

annoyance, annoyer, bother, nuisance, gnawer, nudnik (also nudnick), pain, persecutor, pest, tease, teaser
  4. concerned citizen says:

It looks like Maureen, Cercease, MJ, Hudson, and Thurmond are working closely together to make sure that Stan Jester does not ask any uncomfortable things of DeKalb administration, such as to help the students, teachers, and parents/taxpayers. DeKalb Schools are a mess beyond description. Beasley is an absolute loser. But the F&Fers like it like that ($$$$$$).

  5. Stan Jester says:

I’m answering questions on GetSchooled if anybody would like to join us.

  6. concerned citizen says:

I see that someone has said to Stan Jester: “HIm and his wife…” Well, there we go right there. This person is purely ignorant. Also, Maureen, what do you think you’re doing? Stan Jester is DeKalb’s best hope. Change must start in DeKalb with one person. This particular man is brave and will do so much for the county and its rock-bottom schools. You mention Mayfield as such a person. That’s your opinion. There are many of know that he, too, was just another flunky for the Palace. I can’t imagine that you would bully an amazingly talented man who hasn’t even been to one meeting! I see YOU as having a problem, not understanding that.

  7. As a former DCSS top tier administrator, and an elder at New Birth Church, and an alliance of Bishop Eddie Longs’, Melvin Johnson negotiated a $10,000 a month rental contract between New Birth and DeKalb Schools for the Leadership Prep Academy Charter Start Up. There was a private Christian school already housed in New Birth. That private school no longer exists and the LPA charter school (funded with public money) has grown to fill that space. Michael Thurmond, although he lives in DeKalb, never had anything to do with the schools and in fact, sent his child to private school.

Nancy and Stan Jester’s three children have all attended DeKalb public schools since starting school.

  8. FWIW, Ron Ramsey was actually the person who recruited Eddie Long to come to New Birth in the first place.

From a historical document about New Birth Church >>

The word was out in the community that the pulpit at New Birth was vacant. A pastor search committee was formed by 16 of the members. Through word of mouth, they received 37 applications. They prayed and extensively weeded out applications for weeks, conducting interviews and listening to taped sermons of pastors. Selected applicants were invited to conduct a sermon at the Sunday services. New Birth was nearing a decision when church member Ronald Ramsey highly recommended a minister named Rev. Eddie Long who had just performed Ramsey’s wedding ceremony.

Ramsey’s 2006 campaign contributions for his state senate race:

  10. For Ann Barber: “Special little snowflake” is a term I never heard during my 10 years as a teacher in this county. I guess that speaks well for the school in which I taught.
I did read the urban dictionary definition on the link in an earlier post, and it clearly indicates the term refers to a child. Stan is not a child. Therefore, it is a term that should not have been used in reference to him. I saw it as racist because in this county, race seems to enter everything.
If you did not mean to sound racist, I apologize. But I recommend we all take a lesson from this and abstain from name-calling of any kind.

  11. Ann Barber says:

And I suggest you stop jumping to incorrect conclusions then ask for the wronged person to apologize.
